27/11/2008 - Scottish Cup

We seem to have been playing, or trying to play Scottish ties for months now!!

However if the Saturdays are all as exciting as last week then we won't complain. John and Sammy have got the team to the stage where we can compete with the best Junior sides in Ayrshire. We can only look forward to the game against Annbank and hope that we don't spoil all the hard work of beating Glenafton.

Main priority however will be to win all our games in hand in the league and get back among the teams challenging for promotion.

Come along. Encourage the team.

20/08/2008 - We have shown we can compete

Our two hardest games in the League Cup section, ended in narrow defeats.

It took a freak goal four minutes from the end when a looping cross from Kilbirnie ended up in the far corner of the net.

Against Premier League Beith we got off to the worst possible start, losing a goal in only 28 seconds!! However two goals in two minutes from top scorer Nick Cusack edged Dalry ahead at half time. Nick was injured scoring the second, and had to come off.

It took a late penalty ( our third against in four games!!) and an injury time goal to give Beith the win.

With only the Largs game to come, this would seem to have been a good build up for what is the important business of the League.

12/08/2008 - Two games - two wins

John and Sammy must be delighted with the start the team has made.

As well as some excellent football, the players have shown real character.     A poor refereeing decision in both games has put us under pressure. Against Winton Willie Rankine could count himself unlucky to be shown a red card - but how well did Cammy do when he took over in goal?

Then against the Buffs, our favourite referee Ross Haswell awarded a penalty against us sight at the start of the second half, to put us under pressure in a game where we had looked comfortable.

Whatever else happens now in the League Cup, all thoughts are geared towards Lugar and the opening game of the season.

14/07/2008 - Pre-season now under way

Pre Season training is now well under way - with the usual situation of players on holiday.

The boss is now back from holiday to oversee things. !!

The hunt for players goes on, but John and Sammy have a good pool of players signed - boys who can give cover for more than one position.

The aim will be to provide you with a regular view from inside the dressing room, with news as and when it happens.

17/06/2008 - New Management Team

The Club are pleased to announce the appointment of John Garroch and Sammy Conn as Manager and Assistant. They are keen to get down to the job of signing players and will be hard at work over the coming days and weeks.

We look forward to getting regular updated from John and Sammy.

Lets get 100% behind the Club this season.

29/05/2008 - Manager Resigns

Following the last promotion place being decided on Mon 26th May I tendered my resignation although I agreed to fulfill the last remaining fixtures.

My 3 year plan was to take Dalry from the bottom of the league to promotion but having missed out for the 2nd succesive year I think it is time for a new face at the helm.

There have been significant improvements on and off the field over the last 3 years  but I was unable to bring in the necessary quality to advance to the next level. Its not been easy when you consider that teams such as Irvine Meadow and Kilbirnie had fallen into the District League, and it was always going to be difficult competing financially agianst the big boys.

This year 2 of last years relegated teams go bac up and to be fair these clubs have better pedigree to complete at that level.

I have suspected for some time that we would just not be good enough but have to thank the players for their best endevours in taking it to the last league games and to giving us some decent cup runs.

We have been unfortunate with fixture pile up and injuries and work comitments to key players and some of this years signings have been disappointing but reflectin on this years campaign we have dropped critical points due tio indiscipline which is surprising as we are anything but aggresive from the side of the park. In the main they have been silly! 7 red cards.!!!

I would like to thank Billy Rodgers who has been with me since we embarked in this journey and to Bobby Telford, Robert Latta , Jim Taggart and Aiden O'Neill who have all assisted Billy and I over the period.

I dont want to see the hard work undone so I will work with the club through the transition.

The club have very few sponsors and really need more financial support from the local community. Money doesnt guarantee success but it gives you a greater oportunity and invariably those that have it prosper.

I feel the committee should do their utmost to engage more businessmen so the aspects of running a business can be mirrored at the club.

I've spoke to 3 - 4 individuals who may be interested in the position and will assist the comittee although the post is likely to be advertised.

I would ask the support to try and understand the constraints and get behind the players that are selected.

Our Management team will now split up for a variety of reasons . It is hard to imagine that I will not remain in the game at some level but we will see what happens over the next few months.

Finally I would like to than the committee for giving me the chance to manage Dalry and thank Bill Daly ( Secretary ) in particular for all his hard work. I wish Dalry every success in appoining a new manager and hope the committee understand my decission and react to the task ahead.

09/05/2008 - A Rest at last

What have  the Junior bosses done to us,  3 games a week for the last 4 weeks and now no Saturday fixture for the next two weeks.

One league game to go ( no date yet set ) ,  West tie not drawn till Tueday 13th so who knows where and whom!!

North Ayrshire Cup not drawn ,  these fixtures could be getting played as none of the big clubs are in the last 5.

We've struggled to get numbers for the last 5 - 6 games with several players playing with niggles and some on the bench to make things look good and trialists thankfully helping us out from game to game .

All that and now no sight of our next game !

Allison and Graham still major doubts , Crawford and  McNally carrying knocks but Rodgers came back from his injury well

Wait to see what happens !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

28/04/2008 - Next 3 games

We must win our next 3 league games if we are to have any chance of hanging on to our outside chance of promotion.

It will be difficult but we are capable of 9 points.

If this was achievable this would leave the last 3 games against our promotion rivals and they are all 6 pointers.

Even at that we need our rivals to drop points to each other.

We welcome back Willie Rankine who has missed the last 3 games whilst on job experience, but Top Goalscorer Jamie Allison and Defender Craig Rodgers remain on the injury list.

The FOCUS must be on points , nothing else !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

24/04/2008 - Pool Update

Tony McWilliams has signed and will be in goal against Cumbernauld this Saturday .  Willie Rankine is on a course and will be back on Monday but his back has been given him problems and we will assess when he returns.

Craig Rodgers , injured versus Irvine Vics still out and could be another week .

Similarly with Jamie Allson , served his 2 match ban but looks to be out injured for another week .

So for Saturday we have we have 14.

We have games Monday , Wed and next Sat so 4 games in 7 days will be a big ask for our small pool and we have yet to check work commitments for next week.

Special thanks to Fraser Loudon who has been helping us out
