Dalry returned to Merksworth Park for the first time since October 2009, and celebrated with a win.
Having won the first meeting between the club this season 3 - 0, Kilsyth had every reason to start with confidence and indeed they had the ball in the net inside 4 minutes, but it was rightly chalked off for offside.
On 15 minutes a cross from Canning was taken off the head of Sanderson by the keeper.
The keeper had to be alert again when he punched away a powerful shot from O'Malley
Dalry were getting on top but they suffered a blow on 20 minutes when centre back Cammy McKinnell had to go off with a hamstring injury, being replaced by Tony mcCormack, who went on to have a fine match.
On 23 mnutes Dalry took the lead. A free kick was awarded 25 yards out in line with the left hand edge of the box, and it was Canning who curled a perfectly placed kick round the wall and just inside the post.
Dalry were mopping up anything Kilsyth could throw at them and despite a spell of about 10 inutes when the home side could hardly get a touch of the ball, no real chances were created.
As Dalry came back into the game before half time, firstly a shot from Potts was cleared off the line, then Sanderson shot wide, and right on the whistle, a Bell cross was glanced wide by the head of Sanderson.
The second half continued very much as the first with Dalry always seeming to have the edge.
The best of the early chances fell to Sanderson who after a great run by Fleeting on the left, flicked the bal which ended up in the side net.
Dalry made a change with the tiring O'Malley making way for Menzies
Then a couple of minutes later it was Potter who found the side netting.
The decisive moment in the game came on 72 minutes. After a spell of Dalry pressure a Pottsr shot from 15 yards as bound for the net and was saved by the hands of defender Marc Murray, who was shown the red card.
After a lengthy stoppage while the Kilsyth team argued with the referee, captain Jason Stewart kept his cool to drill the spot kick into the net to make it 2 - 0
With 10 minutes to go, Sanderson should have finished the game but with time to spare he sent a shot from 10 yards over the bar. He was then replaced by Brown as Dalry looked to see the game out.
Almost the last action saw Menzies round the keeper, but he had been forced wide and he allowed the keeper to gat back and smother the ball.
A welcome return to Merksworth and a welcome 3 points for Dalry
