Make no mistake - this was a walk in the park for Dalry.
From the first whistle Dalry set about their task in the correct way.
Inside the first two minutes, Sanderson sent a header over, after a poor clearance.
Then a header at the far post from Duncan was saved.
The opener came in the 7th minute.
Sanderson beat the offside and then held off the challenge of the defender to shoot home from just inside the box.
And the little striker doubled the score on 16 minutes when a low cross from the left gave him a simple tap-in.
It was all Dalry, and Ardeer had still to get the ball into the Dalry box.
Twenty minutes saw a McKnight free kick go just over the bar with the keeper beat.
It took until the 21st minute before Ardeer made a serious attack, winning a corner.
After that it was again one way traffic.
A Duncan break on the right ended with a McKnight shot over.
On 35 minutes it was time for Barry Fleeting to get in on the act.
Fleeting and Menzies were being given ares of space on the left. Fleeting collected the ball and went on a 40 yard run into the box, beating a couple of defenders before beating the keeper to make it 3 - 0.
Dalry set about the second half to settle the game, and on 49 minutes a break on the right by Sanderson saw the ball sent to the far post where Fleeting blasted home to make it 4.
Then in 51 minutes it was Duncan who was left with a tap-in to make it 5.
The game stayed one-sided, but died a bit of a death after this.
The only chances for the home side fell to Quinn who first shot wide, and then did the same with a header.
Things got worse for Ardeer on 72 minutes when O'Keefe was given a second yellow and left the field.
Nearest chances for Dalry were a McKnight free kick which clipped the top of the bar, and an O'Malley shot which went over.
These matches can sometimes end up as a banana skin.
Dalry set about the game in the right way to mke sure there was never going to be a shock.
