For long spells of this match, Dalry showed that they were a match for their premiere opponents.

 

In 3 minutes James Canning had a shot from the edge of the box which went just wide, as Dalry started well.

However in only 5 minutes, they found themself a goal down,

Lapin got in behind the defence on the left hand side, and his low drve beat keeper Ward to end in the net.

 

Dalry bounced back an Menzies had a shot from the edge of the box, which he tried to place rather than go for power.

On 11 minutes ex Dalry keeper Greenwood, pulled off one of several fine saves whan he stopped a header from Bell, after a smart move up the right

 

Largs looked dangerous on 15 minutes when Burgess got in a header from a corner, but it went wide.

 

Dalry were awarded a free kick on 20 inutes, some 20 yards out. Chris McKnight sent the ball into the wall, and despite strong claims for hand ball, the award would have been harsh.

 

On the half hour mark, Cusack turned two defenders nside the box, but his shot was well saved. Then a diagonal ball was met by the head of Hay but it went wide.

On 36 minutes Largs were fortunate to keep 11 players on the park when Gault was guilty of an elbow off the ball, see by the assistant, but he got away with a yellow card.

 

Just before half time Strain sent a diagonal ball to the right to Canning whose shot came off thepost, hit Greenwood on the back and again came off the post.

 

The second half started as the first had ended, with Dalry on the attack.

From a move of the let Cusack shot from the edge of the box, and Greenwood saved with feet.

On 58 minutes a powerful shot from Cusack was only parried by Greenwood but he took enough off the ball to get back in time to stop the ball crossing the line.

 

Dalry made use of their subs, and it was McCormack who had a powerful shot on 62 minutes.

On 67 minutes Sanderson crashed a shot off the post, McCormack had a shot that was saved, and then Hederson shot wide.

It was easy to think that this was going to be just one of those days for Dalry.

Largs were on the ropes, but they did have a chance with 10 minutes to go when JP Dow was allowed space on the left corner of the box, but curled his shot wide.

 

With time running out Sanderson sent an inviting cross in, but Canning was just underneath it.

Then with 2 minutes to go Dalry got a deserved equaliser.
